We don’t do Thanksgiving here…but have a lovely one..and do think of poor old Plumkin…who is still hanging on in there…just about …in his demise…! He has been ceremoniously placed opp the front door in a flower bed so he may eventually sink into the earth. I call him …him…because Taig named him Plumkin and that seems a male name to me ..! What am I talking about…aaargh…a rotting pumkin…? o_o
It’s art and emotion, Kristine. The pumpkin being an object between it all. We have three sitting in our yard, but in the desert, they will not begin to rot until April.(Not carved of course) We use then as color to brighten up the bareness of the garden during the winter months.
a desert is hot is it not? and u say the pumpkins won’t rot til april? what kind of pumpkins do u grow out there!?
happy thanksgiving to u all!!
oh btw i went shopping today – spent 187.00and have only 3 more small gifts to buy! and everyone was happy!
Our winters are colder Sue. It will even snow sometimes. We started the tradition of decorating the garden with pumpkins a few years ago, after our friend Gloria visited on Halloween and brought a handful of them to carve. We had a few left over that never met with the knife and put those in the garden….they lasted until spring without a rotten spot to be found. Now, we do it every year.
Thank you,Steve! Nice pic. Is that snow on the leaf???? *L*
Still waiting to eat my dinner. Bet you’ve had yours already!
I’m thankful to have friends in you and Wylde….*HUGS*
STAY AWAY FROM THE STORES ON FRIDAY! You could get squashed!
love n hugs
It’s not snow, just coloration of the leaf. No worries about shopping on Friday because I HATE to shop. Plus, I am cheap and it’s very difficult to get money out of my hands. lol
