  1. It will never stop Steve…one just has to know…that if you post something up…it is public property. Picasso said…Good artists copy…great artists steal…People like Bob Dylan did a lot of it..!

At first, back before I opened my 1st website or joined YouTube, I worried about the idea of sharing my creative work on the Internet. I was afraid that all of my artistic efforts would be stolen and I would be left with nothing. Then it dawned on me that I already had nothing because everything I had created, produced or photographed was tucked quietly away in my studio, unseen by anyone. I realized that if I didn’t take a chance. . . I would never get one.

Now, although I still worry about the thieves in the night, I have relaxed my fears somewhat and force myself to post to the Internet anyway. I have implemented all the safeguards I can find to protect my blog, but for every step I take. . . there will always be someone who is one step ahead of me. As for my photos and graphics, I post lower resolution images to ensure the quality (if printed) will remain less than my original, so to obtain a high quality image a person must contact me first. Other safeguards are disabling all copy functions and making the blog unprintable. None of these protections are guaranteed, but most people are not likely to spend the time trying to bypass them .

Sadly, in life we have to do these things in the first place and it isn’t exclusive for the Internet. . . in real life we are constantly looking for ways to protect our lives and property from those who threaten our safe cozy worlds. Humans can be ugly, nasty little creatures. . .
